A large academic health system committed to serving patients of all economic levels engaged in a Medicaid exchange risk-based contract. The new contract meant that the organization needed to build the infrastructure for accessing these patients and educating them on how to improve their health and wellness, and was seeking the help of a marketing expert. Also needed was a strategy executive who could assist in the development of clinical care delivery models that were standardized for improved care and efficiency.
Patina quickly delivered two interim experts – a Marketing and Communications professional and Chief Strategy Officer – who worked with the system to develop and implement the organizational infrastructure for clinical and operational success of this contract. Both experts were highly qualified: the marketing expert had been the Chief Marketing Officer for a large Health Plan in the Midwest, while the Chief Strategy officer had been COO and CEO of large academic health systems.
Over a period of one year these interim Patina experts designed and executed marketing and communications processes, integrated delivery models and data reporting systems that resulted in improved financial performance of the contract, improved patient experience and improved health in the community.
