Mullarkey brings 20 years of experience in senior leadership roles to establish and grow new office
Patina Solutions has appointed Matt Mullarkey as managing partner of its Tampa Bay operation including the broader metro area from Sarasota to Orlando.
"Matt works diligently to support business leaders from the perspective of an executive who has built businesses, grown sales, driven profits and delivered strategic approaches that transform organizations," said Mike Harris, CEO of Patina Solutions. "We are very pleased to have him join our management team."
Mullarkey has more than 20 years of experience in senior leadership roles in the automotive, applied materials and medical device industries with P&L responsibilities in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Europe, Brazil, India, Singapore, China, Japan, Australia and Korea.
"Patina Solutions provides a unique value proposition for organizations looking for senior leadership on a variable basis and offers experienced professionals in the Tampa Bay region an opportunity to use their expertise to help companies," said Mullarkey. "We can reverse the effects of the ‘brain drain' in the region by matching the incredibly talented leaders locally to businesses that generally are unaware of the expertise latent in the seasoned, accomplished professionals of central and western Florida."
Prior to joining Patina Solutions, Mullarkey was President of Stochastic Wave Services and Chief Operating Officer of West Pharmaceutical Services, the largest supplier of injectable drug delivery systems and components to every pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical company from over 45 FDA, SFDA and EMEA approved facilities globally. Before joining West, he was Chief Executive Officer of a $60 million applied materials group of companies that supplied the impact absorbing systems in U.S. military helmets.
Mullarkey has held other roles such as VP, Global Operations and VP, HME North America for Invacare Corporation; Senior Vice President of Operations for Delco Remy International; and Operations Manager and Sector Leader for Cambridge Management Consulting. Early in his business career, Mullarkey held various positions of increasing responsibility over 11 years, internationally, with Michelin Tire Group. After graduation, he served as an Airborne, Ranger qualified Infantry Officer in the 25th Infantry Division (Light) in the U.S. Army deployed frequently to Thailand, Korea, Japan and Panama.
Mullarkey has been a corporate officer at two NYSE listed companies, a board member of three private equity controlled companies, and Chairman of the 501(c)3 non-profit Lorain County Urban League (Ohio). He is an inventor holding two U.S. patents and a researcher focusing on the impact of technology on organizational innovation, social networking, change management and monetizing data streams. He recently authored "Socially Immature Organizations: A Typology of Social Networking Systems with Organizations as Users," published by the Academy of Computing Management in CSCW'12, February 2012.
Mullarkey earned a B.S. in Engineering from the U.S. Military Academy (West Point), an M.S. in Systems Management from the University of Southern California and a M.B.A. from the Moore Business School at the University of South Carolina. He has also completed all work to achieve Doctoral Candidacy in Business Administration at the University of South Florida.
